I’ve been meaning to write for a very long time but I
haven’t. After much discussion with myself before I sleep and when I was
feeling down, I decided that it would be good to start writing again. I guess I
have been putting it off for a very long time because I was lazy. There’s
clearly no other excuse other than that. I wanted to write about my trip to
Japan but put it off. So much time has gone and I still have such a bad habit
of doing this.
Anyways, first post for 2015.
Kinky Blue Fairy’s 11th Anniversary Party.
The Venue
Thank you for the invite, Joyce and congratulations on all
your achievements!
I’m not sure if any of you reading this know but I am not a
big follower of the local blogger scene. Yes, very shameful of me. I admit that
I should have been more engaged and committed to keeping up with our local
bloggers but enough of all that regret, let me get to the main point.
Earlier last week, I participated in Kinky Blue Fairy’s
Instagram competition to win invites to her party. I wasn’t keeping my hopes up
on this because I only wanted to win the other prizes like the Centro RM1000
hair makeover and By Invite Only RM250 voucher. I ended up quite kiasu about
winning the other prizes and went on the regramming those entries a few times
more. But the moment I received a comment from Joyce on the picture I regrammed
to win passes to her party, I was stunned.
Let me show you.
My reaction was “Did I win? Why did she comment on my
picture to email her? Let me ask Wei (my oldest sis) whether she’s free this (the
day of the party) evening.”
Right after that which was around 8.30am, I was on my way to
work and working up an email to send to Joyce. I was quite clueless as to what
to write in my email to her. More questions were popping up in my head. “Do I
tell her my reason for wanting to go to her party? Should I tell her my
Instagram handle? Should I include my real name so she knows it’s me she
contacted?” In the end, I answered all my questions and included them in: My
reason, my Instagram handle and my name.
Few hours later of being slightly hopeful and excitedly
doing my work, I got an email from Joyce! –cue Handel’s Messiah Part II:
Hallelujah- I was invited and I could bring my sister with me! Bam! I
immediately contacted my sister, feeling very proud yet anxious at that moment.
I couldn’t wait for her reply and was so anxious she’d say no to being plus
one. Eeep! She said “Kay kay” She was pretty reluctant to go and kept insisting
that I get someone else instead to accompany me. In the end, she gave in and
accompanied me! Thanks so much, Wei! Muacks!
Wei got home late because of a mishap she made, by informing
my other sister, Ping to pick her up at Empire Subang when she was actually at
Empire Damansara. She realised that after Ping called her as she informed Wei
she was at Empire SUBANG already. Wei got home roughly around 5.50pm when I
wanted to leave at 5.30pm. It was no biggie anyways as long as she came home safely
with Ping.
As the event was meant to 7pm, we knew we wouldn’t want to
drive as it was peak hour so I got the Uber app to solve our problems. Hehehe!
Can you sense the laziness in us and how much we don’t like driving? We reached
there at around 7.15pm and boy, we were early!
Wei and I promptly registered ourselves in and were given an
envelope each that contained plenty of vouchers! We giddily entered the venue
but stopped as I stared in shock at Joyce, KINKY BLUE FAIRY!!! She was busy
taking photos with other guests when I froze. Joyce looked absolutely gorgeous,
certainly the girl of the night! Everything about her was on point, her outfit
(oh lord, I love her dress), her shoes and her hair(it had pink and purple
highlights)! It was just amazing~
The minute she was let off, Wei pushed me to say hi to her.
I briefly babbled my way through thanking her and forgetting to introduce
myself. It was like the things I wanted to say to thank her just left my brain
and so did the ability to talk like a normal human being. My sister had to
remind me, she said “Uh, she probably doesn’t know your name.” Yes, very
stupid, I know. I got to introduce myself nevertheless while my sister smoothly
small talked with her. (Wei so badass, Wei got skills) We snapped some photos
with her before entering the restaurant. Oh, I forgot to mention that the party
was at The Bee @ Publika. It was set up quite nicely I must say. There was a
freeflow of beer, whiskey, Strongbow, orange juice and water infused with
magical fruits(just kidding, there was orange, strawberry and something else I
don’t quite remember).

Wei and I settled down after snapping some pictures around
the restaurant. It was appropriately attired by balloons of different colours,
shapes and sizes. It was definitely an event meant for the 11th
Anniversary of Kinky Blue Fairy.
As you can see from the photos, The Bee was colourfully
decorated and had lots of fun photo areas for awesome pictures!

the upside down Kinky Blue Fairy signage.
As people started arriving, Wei and I spotted a few familiar
faces like Nadia(Liquido Msia) and Lynette(Wei’s customer turned close friend).
Wei and I were frankly quite surprised by Lynette’s presence but nevertheless,
extremely pleased. Immediately after exchanging introductions with Lynette’s
colleague, Jasnitha, we took the opportunity to take more photos outside again!
The party started with Joyce hosting her own party (which
was cute) with the reason someone provided her “If someone else mcs it, no one
will pay attention”. She did a splendid job at mceeing eventhough she was
basically running to and from the stage.
Throughout the event, people were having a good time and
just chilling on a weekday night. I myself had an interesting evening as I got
to meet Hui, founder of Ash Be Nimble and Manisha, owner of MTalent Asia. It
was definitely a great experience meeting such wonderful people. They were both
ridiculously nice and friendly. Thanks Wei for introducing these cool people to
me!
Wei and I left early along with Lynette, Jasnitha and Hui to
Coffee Stain for a quick hangout. The Bee was getting a little too crowded and
so we left. We had a short chit-chat and I got to know these wonderful ladies a
little bit more. Wei tried the famous coffee cube thing while I had a Mushroom
& Tomato spaghetti.
After our quick hangout, we decided to head back home.
Lynette was kind enough to give Wei and I a lift home. This lift home was home
was incredibly special because we got to sit in the new Mercedez-Benz C250! It
was so cool!! In case you’re wondering, the car doesn’t belong to Lynette,
she’s reviewing it and so she’s driving it around.
All in all, it was a great party, I met new incredible
people and had a lovely time. Thank you again to Joyce for the invite.
